About Me

Although I am only 28 years old and am just starting my 5th year as a full-time teacher, I have been surrounded by educators for my entire life. The only child of a single parent who taught in Northern California middle & high schools for 25 years, I saw the inside and outside of our education system and knew from as early as I can remember that I wanted to teach as well.

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2014 with a degree in practice of art where I took a variety of classes that gave me the opportunity to teach. After graduating, I traveled to India to teach English and current events for five months, which you can read more about here. Since I returned to California I have been working at Willard Middle School in a variety of different roles, finally finding my way in to the art room where I belong.
